Accessibility statement
This English text is for convenience. The Dutch version is legally authoritative.
In brief
- This text covers soapwoodcoreco.click and a visit to the studio in Haarlemmerbuurt.
- We aim the site at WCAG 2.2 level AA; we have not commissioned a third-party audit.
- We have not published a certified status for stairs, lift or toilets; ask when you book.
- If you get stuck, write to [email protected] with the page, the problem and which assistive technology you use.
1. About this statement
This text belongs to the website soapwoodcoreco.click of Soapwoodcoreco B.V., Grote Bickersstraat 74, 1013 KS Amsterdam. It describes what we do to make the site and a visit to the recording studio usable for people with a disability, and where the limits sit. Effective 1 October 2026, last reviewed 1 October 2026. The Dutch version is authoritative; this English page is for information.
The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) has been turned into rules in the Netherlands for certain products and services, from 28 June 2025. Small providers may fall outside that duty. Soapwoodcoreco is a compact studio (3 rooms, a team of three, founded in 2018). We publish this statement on our own initiative and we do not claim a formal conformity assessment under that law.
2. What we aim for
Soapwoodcoreco B.V. wants visitors to use the site to understand the services, ask a question and plan a session — whether you use a screen reader, a keyboard or enlarged text. We take Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA as the target, together with the matching success criteria that also appear in EN 301 549.
From how the site is built (semantic HTML, one main landmark, visible labels on the form, no embedded frames) you may expect to:
- enlarge text to about 200 percent without columns falling off the page;
- follow the main structure with the keyboard (menu, content, form, footer);
- hear headings, lists and tables in a logical order with a screen reader;
- reduce motion if your operating system has reduced motion switched on.
Those points are a design aim, not a badge. We have not hired an external auditor and we issue no certificate.
3. Status of conformance
The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. “Partially” stays in place until we have finished a full, documented check of every page in Dutch and in English. We do not rely on another national reference scheme besides WCAG / EN 301 549.
The check so far is our own review: a sample of unique templates (home, services, legal pages, form) with keyboard, zoom and the browser’s built-in accessibility inspection. No automated scanner replaces a human pass. Date of this self-assessment: 1 October 2026.
4. Known limits
Limits remain. Only what we know sits here.
- Generated mood images
- Pictures on the site are illustrative and made with AI. They have a short alternative text that describes the scene, but they add no extra factual information beside the text next to them. Criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) is covered for the “atmosphere” role, not as an informative chart.
- No video, no PDF forms
- There is no embedded film, so criterion 1.2.2 (captions) does not arise. We do not offer downloadable PDF forms; booking goes through the contact form or 020-737 4821.
- Map as an external link
- We open the location as a link to OpenStreetMap, not as an embedded map. A map iframe would add extra controls; the route in text is on contact.
- Two languages
- Each page has a language switch. Legal texts in English are a translation; if they differ, Dutch prevails, as also stated in the legal notice.
If you find something missing here, we add it to this list. We fix reported barriers in order of impact.
5. The studio in Amsterdam
Digital accessibility does not cover the whole visit. Take tram 22 to Haarlemmerplein, then walk about 6 minutes via Haarlemmerdijk. Bus stop Buiten Oranjesluis (lines 18, 21 and 22) is within walking distance.
In concrete terms: we are at Grote Bickersstraat 74 in Haarlemmerbuurt. Inside there are 3 treated rooms. The live room is 42 m², the control room 18 m², plus 2 isolation booths. A band is at most 6 musicians. The booths are compact, isolated rooms; say in advance if you need a larger setup, extra breaks or a different working spot. We have not published an independent survey of stairs, thresholds, a lift or toilets. We do not claim wheelchair access until you have checked that with us.
Hours: Closed Monday. Tuesday through Friday 10:00–22:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00. Sunday by appointment only.. Plan a visit through contact or [email protected] so we can leave time for unloading, an extra chair or a quieter schedule. Services such as Vocal recording (from €95 per hour incl. VAT) and Band recording (from €125 per hour incl. VAT) are compared on services. About the people: about us. A vocal checklist is in prepare for a vocal session.
6. Feedback and next steps
If you hit a barrier on the site or during a visit, write to [email protected] or use the form. Mention three things so we can look faster:
- which page or room it happened on;
- what went wrong;
- which browser, device or assistive technology you used.
We confirm studio messages within 2 working days. An accessibility request we handle on the substance as soon as the check allows, and in any case within the same one-month window as other rights requests in the privacy policy.
If talking to us does not close the point and it is about equal treatment on the ground of disability, you can turn to the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights (College voor de Rechten van de Mens). That body is not a WCAG certification office and not a dispute board for studio bookings; booking disputes sit in the terms and conditions and the FAQ. Cookie settings: cookie policy.
