Podcast recording

Round table, boom mics and monitoring for two to four voices — with an engineer keeping levels steady while you host the conversation.

Two podcasters at a table with microphones and headphones.

Podcast recording at Soapwoodcoreco targets interviews, co-hosted shows and company series that need dry, intelligible speech without hotel-room reverb. Noah Jansen coordinates many podcast sessions; you do not need broadcast experience.

Music, stingers and rights are your responsibility — read podcast music rights before recording. For music production alongside talk, see vocal recording or mixing; here the focus is clear dialogue. Teams on recurring schedules can block multiple sessions in one month; ask about slots outside Tue–Fri 10–22, Sat 11–18 via contact.

How it works

  1. 01

    Format

Tell us host count, guests, target length and whether you film video. We often recommend the 2-hour block (€135).

  2. 02

    Setup

Table, mic height, pop filters and headphones. A test round for level and sibilance before the real recording.

  3. 03

    Record

Conversation in one or several takes; engineer marks timestamps on restarts. Water and voice breaks are built in.

  4. 04

    Deliver

One WAV per voice; optional light edit (€55). We do not publish to platforms — you choose where it goes.

Who it is for

Independent podcasters, media companies, education series, brands capturing thought leadership. Minimum age 16; younger speakers by arrangement with a guardian via contact.

Not for live audience shows with interactive room noise; phone call-ins need a prior test. Remote guests work via clean feed if you bring reliable hardware.

Table setup and monitoring

Two to four speakers at a round table with individual boom mics; everyone hears each other in headphones without feedback. The engineer sits in control and intervenes only when someone sits too close or far from the capsule.

You can watch video on a control-room monitor; we do not provide multicam direction. Audio is the priority; sync with your camera happens in post or with your video crew.

Prepare your content

Send outline, guest bios and intro/outro scripts ahead. Read music rights if you want commercial tracks — we do not license music on your behalf.

Avoid rustling clothes, jangling jewellery and open windows on busy streets during takes. Phones on airplane mode; table rumble belongs on stands, not handheld devices.

Leave room in your script for restarts: a flubbed line does not need a new session, but it does need a clear cue for the engineer. Fixed-length intros benefit from a timed run-through before we roll.

What you receive

Per participant a mono or stereo WAV (24-bit, 48 kHz), plus mix-minus or sync mix on request for quick review. Light edit trims silence, normalises level and removes obvious clicks — no heavy EQ or underscoring unless agreed separately.

Edit revisions: up to 2 short feedback rounds on the edit job, not on recording hours themselves. Turnaround usually within a few working days after session; rush by arrangement.

Need loudness near −16 LUFS for podcast platforms? That sits outside light edit; we can point you to mastering or quote custom work.

Not included

Hosting on Spotify/Apple, transcription, heavy noise reduction on field recordings, jingle composition, video edit, marketing. Raw recording without edit stays in your package if you skip €55.

No guarantee of download numbers; we deliver consistent speech tracks. Liability limits as in terms and disclaimer.

Privacy and data

Conversations may contain personal data. Legal bases and retention are in privacy policy; B2B processing agreement via data processing agreement on request.

We keep project files 12 months, then delete unless extended. Export your own backups to your CMS.

FAQ

How many speakers at once?

Two to four comfortably at the table. Five is tight; rotation or an extra hour (€78) may work better.

Can we patch remote guests?

Yes with a reliable clean feed or interface; test before session via contact. We do not supply commercial ISDN lines.

Is edit mandatory?

No. Without €55 you get raw tracks; many hosts edit in their own DAW.

Can we play our intro music?

Only if you hold the rights. See music rights guide; we will not record commercial tracks without licence.

Can we shoot video?

Static camera or monitoring is fine; full video production is not included. Discuss lighting and camera beforehand.

What if a guest is late?

Booked time still runs; extensions bill hourly if the calendar allows. Call 020-737 4821 if you are delayed so we can adjust the next booking.
